Snapchat deceived its customers, FTC says

Since its launch, Snapchat- the mobile app- allowed users to share their pictures under the promise that they will be deleted soon. But Federal Trade Commission is claiming otherwise. It says that Snapchat has deceived its customers by stealing their personal data. It is said that Snapchat has been engaged in data stealing practice since a long time.

Furthermore, FTC said Snapchat has also taken location data of its customers.  Besides, Edith Ramirez FTC Chairwoman said in a harsh tone that “Snapchat does not comply with its own rules, if this company can’t assure privacy, why it markets privacy as a selling pitch?”

Last but not the least the company is trying to bridge the trust gap through its blogging posts. It is said that most of the users of this application feel really uncomfortable now.
